MSC Malaysia – ICONapps
ICONapps is a great way to get started with creating cool applications for the mobile and online social networking platforms. Intended for seeding critical skills for Social Networking Applications to Malaysians, ICONapps aims to help Malaysians enter the mobile and online applet market. This will create new avenues for income generation through broadband technologies and in turn create earnings from the Monetisation of Applets of successful programme participants. ICONapps also seeks to provide exposure to job hunters through on-the-job training attachment programmes provided to successful applicant for short term attachments to companies engaged in content development.
ICON seeks to train 2,000 people under this programme by end 2010.
Apart from enabling people to learn new skills in order to find a new job, ICONapps also encourages Malaysians to start their own business, i.e. potential new companies in Applet Development. Such programme will spur the content creation industry and Malaysia’s Creative Economy.
The initial ICONapps programme features the Applet Developer Programme for successful mobile and social networking platforms. Future programmes may include re-skilling in Content Development (Photography, Video, etc).
Applicants must be Malaysian Citizens (with priority to students and the unemployed) with a programming background.
